Sonya is a Physical Therapy Assistant and Stretch Therapist with experience in orthopedics, neurology, sports injuries, etc, and brings lots of experience to our office.
Education:
Sonya earned an associate degree in Physical Therapy Assistant from Darton College in Albany, GA, in 1997; a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and Wellness from Georgia Southwestern State University in 2002; and a master’s degree in Education with an emphasis in Exercise Science and Wellness from Georgia Southwestern State University in 2003.
Sonya has extensive experience in orthopedics, neurology, sports related injuries, cupping, and stretch therapy. She has worked in a variety of settings, including acute care, rehabilitation, home health, assisted living, and skilled nursing facilities.
Sonya is passionate about treating a wide range of conditions, from sports related to work related injuries. She prides herself on providing treatment options that help each patient or client return to their prior level of function, or as close to it as possible. She is eager to learn new skills and treatment options to provide the best care for her patients and clients.
When she’s not in the clinic, you can find Sonya on the soccer or football field supporting her two boys. She loves college sports, especially football and women’s basketball, as well as the WNBA. She also enjoys watching her boys play sports, going on excursions with them, spending time at the beach, traveling, and exploring new restaurants and breweries.
